HOW TO PRAY by John Pritchard

(review by LINDA VIDELER)

This book is a definite “yes” for those who sometimes feel that prayer is boring or who seem to find it a difficult thing to do.  It’s also for those who are starting out in a prayer life, want to increase it or revive it.   I find it inspires and gives one insight into the many questions you have on the topic of prayer. Here are just some of the themes:

*             How to start and end the day with God

*             How to slow down

*             How to pray when the going gets tough

*             How to soak in silence

*             How to pray with others

*             How to make all of life a prayer

In conclusion the author shares something profound in his introduction, he says: “Prayer is the hidden wiring of human life that connects us to the world wide web of the Spirit.” This book may well be a wonderful Christmas gift for a good friend.
